Minister for Forests and Environment Dr Hasan Mahmud today alleged that BNP has proved its involvement in different sabotage activities across the country.

He said BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakrul Islam Alamgir declared that if the government passes the caretaker government (CG) bill in parliament, destructive activities on the streets will stop, which proved that BNP is involved in sabotage activities.

“BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia declared in a meeting in the northern region that Golam Azam, Motiur Rahman Nizami and Delwar Hossain Sayedee are not war criminals. On the other hand, she claimed that BNP will try the war criminals if they go to power next time,” Dr Hasan Mahmud said.

Terming it a hypocrisy of BNP chairperson, the Awami League (AL) publication secretary said BNP lawyers always defended the war criminals in the court besides criticising the ongoing trial on different occasions.

He said this while talking to the journalists after laying the foundation stone of Patenga Sea Beach Development Project at Patenga sea beach this noon. The project is being implemented at a cost of Tk 71.4 million.
