PM: WORLD ACCEPTS RECENT POLLS RESULTS AS POSITIVE ACHIEVEMENT

Prime Minister and Leader of the House Sheikh Hasina today said the world community has accepted the results of the recent elections as a positive achievement.

“The world community has accepted the results of the recent elections as a positive achievement against all kinds of violent and terrorist acts of BNP and Jamaat-Shibir clique and capturing power illegally to foil the polls,” she said.

The Prime Minister said that it has been cleared from the greetings and statements of different countries and international bodies that ill motives and activities of certain quarters to raise questions about the acceptability of the 10th Jatiya Sangsad polls and the newly elected government have failed totally.

The Leader of the House said this in reply to a question from ruling party lawmaker Enamul Haque in the Jatiya Sangsad during her question answer session.

She informed the House that heads of state and government of 37 countries have so far congratulated her on her assumption of the office of the Prime Minister for the second consecutive term.

“Besides, 11 international organizations including the United Nations have greeted me on becoming the Prime Minister of the new government,” she said.

Sheikh Hasina said apart from this, different friendly countries have vowed to work with the newly-elected government of Bangladesh to keep the process of democracy, rule of law and development ongoing.
