The eastern European country, Belarus, has said it would work with the new Bangladesh’s government in all spheres.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Belarus Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich had sent a congratulatory letter to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her “confident victory” in the Jan 5 elections.

The BNP, one of Bangladesh’s major parties, boycotted the poll, resulting in more than half of the seats returning uncontested winners and triggering debates about the legitimacy of the vote.
